Pregnancy is something that sends everyone around into a frenzy, (we’re talking about us girls here) and the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear that someone is pregnant is SHOPPING. Shopping for that perfect gift can be a nightmare though and so I have put together a list of the top 5 gifts that I have given, and I have been to a lot of baby showers in my time. So check out the list and find one that fits your next baby shower occasion

1. Nappies, nappies and more nappies. This may seem like a boring gift, but this is exactly why you should get it. Noone wants to be that person who bought the boring gift but you know what, yours will be the favorite! At least this gift is something that they can use and will save them time and money in the long run. You can still make this gift look amazing remember, in fact many stores offer special boxes for presenting nappies in for just this type of occasion

2. Blankets, throws, wipes, towels -they come in a variety of names and variety of shapes and sizes, and let me tell you first hand, as a new parent you can never have enough of any of them. There are a lot of novelty type gift packs available with baby cloths but these tend to be too small and are only useful for the first few months. Buy the larger ones to be sure of a hit gift that will serve them well for years (and kids) to come.

3. Pamper products and care for that new Mom. So often the baby shower becomes all about the new baby and Mom gets overlooked. During this new period in her life she will definitely not look after herself ahead of the baby, so get her a gift that allows her to take a much deserved break.

4. Lightweight stroller and Baby Car seats are a necessity, and if you are the one who provies the gift – you will forever be remembered for your generosity. You can also get covers for the baby car seat to make cleaning them easier for the future mum

5. Gift Certificates. You can never go wrong with a gift certificate. Mom and Dad get to choose what they want and you gave them that satisfaction. The obvious choice for a gift certificate would where the registry is set up. If they do not have a registry set up, good choices could include their favorite supermarket (formula, diapers) or baby store. Another gift certificate idea could be a check card gift certificate. It works like a credit card and can be used anywhere.

Tip: I don’t suggest buying clothing unless the parents-to-be suggested so. Chances are they have already gone shopping and couldn’t resist those tiny adorable outfits.
