Driving is very much a part of our lives that the idea of not doing so simply just doesn’t cross our minds. Apart that is from when we have had a drink then we all know that our mental faculties are too impaired to allow us to drive. However, when our mental faculties are impaired because we’re tired, unwell, taking prescription drugs or simply growing older many of us do not believe that we should stop driving until we recover. There are many illnesses which can impair your ability to drive, these include epilepsy, some heart diseases, some mental illnesses like manic depression and diseases that impact on your ability to move freely such as MS or severe arthritis. Most of the time your doctor will advice you if they feel that that you should consider not driving whilst sick. Yet, even if they do not specifically mention it is wise for you to raise the topic it is better to be safe rather than sorry.

It can be tempting to neglect these things and keep on driving, but once your ailment leads to your erratic driving causing a serious accident not only may your insurance not take care of any damage you will also find yourself in trouble with the law.
